Emily Davidson is a creative writer from Saint John, New Brunswick. Her debut collection of poetry, Lift, was released by Thistledown Press, and her poems have appeared in Canadian publications including Arc, CV2, Descant, The Fiddlehead, Room, subTerrain, and The Best Canadian Poetry 2015. Her fiction has appeared in Grain and Maisonneuve and was short-listed for The Malahat Review’s 2013 Far Horizons Award for Short Fiction.
An animated and joyful instructor, Emily taught several wonderful cohorts of poets with Simon Fraser University’s continuing studies department. She works as a writer at a large Vancouver nonprofit, where she crafts dignifying donor-facing stories that aim to break down barriers for people experiencing poverty, homelessness, and addiction.
Emily resides in Vancouver, British Columbia, on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia.
