Four Poems and a Review

I don’t know about you, but the pandemic was not a creative time for me. It was the opposite: a long, dark sensory deprivation that put to sleep my instincts in service of survival. We needn’t dwell on it; much of it is a blur.

There have since been stirrings of writing life that I’m happy to share.

  1. I had two poems featured in EVENT 53.3, and whether or not I burst into tears when I read the acceptance email is not for me to tell.

  2. I’ve also had two pieces published in The Fiddlehead No.306. To say these small breakthroughs have been the oxygen I needed is an understatement.

  3. Lastly, I contributed a Stop! Look! Listen! review to The Fiddlehead, which you can read for my thoughts on Laline Paull’s excellent novel The Bees.

It’s nice to have something—anything—to share. May we all have the good fortune to emerge and re-emerge.
